Installation Tips for Computer Memory

A great example for computer memory is with Apple. Although the iBook sold by Apple Computers was discontinued in 2006, many people still use them. In fact, if you have an iBook and want to upgrade the iBook memory, you can find a number of recourses for buying. Although you can always hire a professional to install your new upgrade, another option is to do it yourself. As you will see, installation of iBook memory is not as difficult as it might sound. Even if you are not a computer guru, the process can be successful simply by following a few guidelines and taking your time. However, with any type of memory, such as Samsung memory, SmartStep memory, or, eServer memory, special care in handling the components is critical.  Some of the items are fragile. Therefore, each part must be handled with kitten gloves, so to speak.

To get started with the installation of your iBook memory, make sure the system is turned off. Once the computer has had time to cool off, any connected cables to the computer would be removed. With the back of the computer facing you, look for the opening for the battery. Next, reposition the computer, allowing you to get to the keyboard. Press the F1 and F12 keys, which release the tabs. Next, the airport card (if applicable) would be released and it along with the antenna removed.  Loosen any screws that hold the memory shield in place, carefully spreading the brackets that hold the card so they are slightly open. Remove the old card and with the new card, set it down gently at a 30-degree angle into the slot until firmly secured.  The shield, screws, airport card, antenna, and cables are replaced and the computer restarted.
