After the Break Up
When Annie and her fiancé broke up, her world was turned upside down. They were about to be married in two months time when she discovered that her partner, Jim, was seeing another woman. She regretted the two years of wasting her time with him, and now, she is trying to move on. She wanted all of Jim’s remembrance in her life erased away, including the things he’s given and the apartment she shared with him. Moving on to a new unit, she asked me if I could help her out.
We were organizing her things when we came upon the couple ring Jim gave her when she was still his girlfriend. Annie wanted to throw it away, but I asked her, why not get cash from it? I suggested she should sell jewelry, basically the ones that Jim gave her.
Annie loved the idea, and she immediately contacted the buying company online to have her jewelry appraised. When she got her money, there was no guilt. I notice the freedom in Annie’s face. When she decided to sell gold—the ones her ex lover gave her, she felt immensely relieved. It was a part of moving on, a step forward. She’ll find her true love in time. But for now, she’s enjoying her life being single.
